Chironet, LLC’s business strategy focuses on building relationships with professional associations, winning the ‘seal of approval’ from national accrediting bodies, and becoming known as the scientifically valid, yet practical option for comparing health outcomes across diverse sites of care at a reasonable cost. The ability to compare healthcare outcomes with similar information from peer organizations, without identifying patients or the clinical site of care, is unique in the market. Medical malpractice insurers offer premium credits to clinical care sites for adopting the company's programs.

Outcomes Monitoring System™ (ASC)
Currently, the company offers its Internet services nationwide to ambulatory surgery centers through an exclusive marketing agreement with McKesson Medical Surgery Corporation. The service offered is called the Outcomes Monitoring System™ (OMS). Over 500 ambulatory surgery centers and clinics will use patient-level or center-level benchmarking services from the company in 2002. The company has expanded into inpatient hospitals and hospital outpatient departments and is targeting further expansion inton primary care and specialist physician offices.

Outcomes Monitoring System™ (Hospitals)
In 2002, the company expanded its proprietary OMS™ approach to performance measurement for acute care hospitals. The company received approval in April 2002 to be listed as a The Joint Commission Hospital Core Measures System. As an approved The Joint Commission Performance Measurement System, Chironet, LLC is eligible, at no further payment to The Joint Commission, to offer the hospital core measures and now offers this service nationwide.

Outcomes Monitoring System Tools™ (ASCs and Hospitals)
Further development of the current OMS™ approach requires the use of specific OMS™ Tools. This OMS™ Tools system complements the OMS™ benchmarking and OMS™ Plus. These simple scripts and process control templates enable quality managers, staff and physicians to “drill down” when designing improvement programs, gauging the success of interventions, redesigning existing programs to incorporate the lessons learned from the benchmarking initiatives as well as incorporating the gains made from the improvement programs into the current clinical systems.
